In the semiconductor world, Fabless (short for "fabrication-less") refers to a business model where a company designs, brands, and sells hardware and chips but does not own the factory (the "fab") where they are physically manufactured.
Instead, these companies outsource the high-tech, multi-billion-dollar manufacturing process to specialized plants called foundries.
The Fabless Company is the Chef. They spend years perfecting a secret recipe (the chip design) and the brand.
